Lauren Malone, Ph.D.
Senior Research Scientist
Lauren Malone is an expert in recruiting and accession policies as well as overall force quality. Her recent research topics include an evaluation of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program, Servicemembers' use of tuition assistance, and veterans' transition issues. She has served as CNA's Scientific Analyst to Marine Corps Recruiting Command.
Prior to joining CNA, Malone worked as a research assistant, teaching assistant, and instructor at UC Santa Cruz.
Malone has a Ph.D. and an M.A. in International Economics from UC Santa Cruz. She also has a B.A. in Global Economics and a B.A. in Latin American and Latino Studies from UC Santa Cruz. She is fluent in Spanish.
