BIOGRAPHYLars Hanson is an expert in infrastructure systems, natural resources, planning and decision support, environmental modeling, disaster resilience, and geospatial analysis. His recent research topics include supply chain analysis in the context of major disasters, water risk assessment for Navy and Marine Corps installations, global water stress analysis, environmental impacts of energy infrastructure development, and energy-water nexus analysis for the power sector. Prior to joining CNA, Hanson worked as a regional water resources planner for Triangle J Council of Governments in Durham, NC, and as a water resources engineer for GKY & Associates in Chantilly, VA. Hanson has an MS in water resources engineering from Tufts University, and BS in civil engineering and public policy from Carnegie Mellon University. He is also a professional engineer, a Natural Resources Leadership Institute fellow, and is moderately proficient in French.
