
David Broyles, Ph.D.

BIOGRAPHY
David Broyles directs the Special Activities & Intelligence Program. Broyles specializes in cyber operations and special operations, as well as experimentation and innovation in the Department of Defense. He has a background in naval mine warfare, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), the Littoral Combat Ship, the Defense Readiness Reporting System for the U.S. Navy, operation assessment and Marine Corps operations in Afghanistan.
Broyles has served as the CNA Field Representative to the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, analyzing global resourcing, and to the Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command. He assisted operations in Baghdad, Iraq, where he analyzed electronic warfare for the Navy and Army. Broyles was the primary CNA analyst to Adm. John C. Harvey, Jr. at U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia, and he analyzed Marine Corps operations in Afghanistan at Regional Command Southwest under Brig. Gen. Daniel D. Yoo.
Broyles has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Cornell University and a B.A. in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis. He is fluent in French.
