President and CEO

BIOGRAPHY

Katherine McGrady serves as President and CEO of CNA, providing nearly 30 years of research and leadership experience since her start at CNA in 1988. Her leadership is backed by multiple field research experiences, from Somalia to Operation Desert Storm, defining CNA's mission as going to the data to understand the problem.

Becoming CNA's CEO and President in 2015, McGrady developed a new plan and vision for the organization, emphasizing CNA's uncommon approach to gathering data first-hand in order to better understand both clear and underlying issues to a problem. McGrady has served in multiple positions at CNA, including Director of the Marine Corps Program, Director of Fleet Level Operations, and VP and Director of Research.

As a Field Representative, McGrady served at multiple command sites across the world, including Camp Pendleton and U.S. Marine Corps Headquarters. She has also performed after action analyses to improve effectiveness, such as for humanitarian assistance operations in Somalia.

McGrady earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Smith College.
