Retired Navy Vice Admiral Dave Johnson Named Chair of CNA Board of Trustees
The CNA Corporation recently announced the appointment of retired Navy Vice Admiral David C. Johnson as Chair of the CNA Board of Trustees. His appointment was confirmed at a board meeting December 18 and 19, 2024, at CNA headquarters. Admiral Johnson has served on CNA’s board since 2019.
"Admiral Johnson has served as a valuable asset in his five years on the CNA Board of Trustees," said Katherine McGrady, President and CEO of CNA Corporation. "His wealth of experience in leadership makes him the perfect fit to guide CNA into its next chapter."
Admiral Johnson is Vice President, L3Harris International, where he oversees international offices and develops and executes the company's worldwide business development strategy, including enterprise country strategies, with a focus on new growth and productivity initiatives.

He previously completed a distinguished 36-year career in the U.S. Navy. Admiral Johnson served as the Principal Military Deputy to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition, where he had responsibility for all Navy and Marine Corps programs and development for maritime, ground, aviation, space, and C4I systems. Prior assignments included Program Executive Office Submarines, Deputy Commander Naval Sea Systems Command for Undersea Technology, Commander Naval Undersea Warfare Center, major program manager for Virginia-class submarines, and various assignments in ship design, construction, maintenance, modernization, and technology development.
