Andie Melanson

Director of Research Administration, Center for Naval Analyses

Andie Melanson has served as the Director of Research Administration for the Center for Naval Analyses since 2021. In this role, she serves as the principal advisor on financial and contractual management issues to the Executive Vice President of the Center for Naval Analyses, the federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the Department of the Navy. She is the FFRDC’s primary point of contact to the Office of Naval Research for contract administration matters. In addition, she manages a team of project administrators and analysts who deliver financial and administrative support to the research divisions. Melanson joined CNA in 2011 in the Institute for Public Research, overseeing a large portion of the institute’s direct revenue for clients including the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Department of Justice.

In past roles at other organizations, Melanson held financial and consulting positions for national security and defense-focused organizations such as Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Herren Associates. As a Project Control Analyst at SAIC, Melanson contributed to the successful execution of a $500 million Base Realignment and Closure contract with the Army. As a Senior Consultant for Herren Associates, she supported manpower and resource planning efforts for Navy Regional Maintenance Centers Command. Melanson earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a certificate in business administration from the University of San Diego.
