Las Vegas After-Action Assessment: Lessons Learned from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department's Ambush Incident

The Las Vegas community and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department experienced a tragic loss when two officers were ambushed and killed by two assailants, who also killed a Good Samaritan civilian who attempted to intervene. This after-action assessment, sponsored by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), summarizes key findings of a CNA analysis of the ambush and subsequent police engagement with the assailants.
