CNA Trustees Award Presented to Adam Olsen for F-35 Analysis
CNA has presented Dr. Adam Olsen with its highest honor, the Trustees Award. Olsen is a leader in scientific analysis of the F-35, the Navy’s most important aircraft. He has built a team of eight analysts testing capabilities and tactics of the Joint Strike Fighter, and their work has resulted in fixed and released upgrades to F-35 squadrons worldwide. Olsen is a principal research scientist for the Advanced Technology Assessment Division in the Center for Naval Analyses.
The Trustees Award is given annually to a CNA employee who embodies its values and whose contributions advance the mission of the not-for-profit organization: the safety and security of the nation. Olsen’s contributions to national security have always kept him in close contact with the servicemembers most affected by his analysis. He has worked with fighter pilots from the US Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and partner nations. As part of CNA’s Field Program, he has been embedded with five commands, including two overseas combat deployments, where he collected data on F-35 missions.
“Adam’s work is the kind of service that rarely makes headlines,” said Linda Petrone, CNA trustee and chair of the Awards Subcommittee. “For years, Adam has chosen mission over comfort, purpose over recognition, and contribution over ambition.”
“Adam sets the gold standard at CNA: excellence, operational expertise, and mission-focus,” said Dr. Timothy Roberts, vice president of the Advanced Technology Assessment Division. “We are thrilled to see Dr. Olsen receive this award, not only for his time as a field representative but for his superior performance leading analysis for one of the Navy’s most important assets.”
“This feels like a celebration of the F-35 team we’ve been building since early 2017,” said Olsen. “I’m proud of how hard this team works, and I’m proud of the collaborations we’ve developed across F-35 and other aircraft platforms.”
