Anna Williams, Ph.D.

Research Scientist

EXPERTISE: Defense Technology, Foreign Policy, Operations Analysis, Autonomy, AI and Drones

 

Anna Williams studies the operational employment of U.S. naval warfare capabilities—including carrier strike groups, unmanned and autonomous systems, information warfare, and missile defense. Williams has previously deployed as the CNA field representative to the John C. Stennis Strike Group/ Carrier Strike Group Three, and is broadly interested in the use and influence of the U.S. military worldwide, as well as in the societal implications of emerging technologies.

Williams holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from Northeastern University and a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in philosophy from Dickinson College. She's additionally held multiple internships and fellowships in science and technology policy, including with the U.S. House of Representatives, the National Science Foundation, and the National Academy of Sciences.
