Diane Vavrichek specializes in analyzing current military operations and operational policy, with a focus on new and nontraditional means of warfighting, such as unmanned and autonomous systems. She also specializes in analyzing training and readiness for the military. Vavrichek deployed aboard the USS Vinson in 2014-2015 as the CNA field representative to Carrier Strike Group ONE.
Vavrichek has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Mathematics from Beloit College.
