CNA’s Warren Sutton and Sebastian Bae have been named to the exclusive U.S. National Security & Foreign Affairs Leadership List for 2022. This honor is given by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), in partnership with the Diversity in National Security Network (DINSN).

“Warren and Sebastian are a valued and integral part of the CNA team,” said CNA CEO Katherine McGrady. “Honoring these individuals from underrepresented communities’ spotlights diversity while recognizing the importance of adding other voices to national security and foreign affairs conversations.”

Warren Sutton is an operations research analyst in CNA’s Resources and Force Readiness Division, specializing in manpower and personnel issues. He develops optimization and simulation tools for practical decision-making in the Navy and Marine Corps. He is currently working on an algorithm to assist the Navy with enlisted job assignments. Sutton is also a member of CNA’s Educational and Charitable Fund Committee.

Sebastian Bae is a top wargame designer in who excels at creative and detailed educational wargames. He recently developed a game on Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, designed to educate policymakers worldwide on the factors that drive fishing fleets to engage in illegal or illicit activities. He also recently ran a bilateral wargame with Japanese partners and allies.

The 2022 U.S. National Security & Foreign Affairs Leadership List features leaders from the executive branch, media, think tanks, consulting, academia, nonprofits and more. The 50 selected leaders underwent a competitive nomination and selection process in which they were assessed on the strength and uniqueness of their contributions to national security and foreign affairs.
