Scientific Analysts

For some 70 years, CNA has embedded an elite corps of analysts within Department of the Navy headquarters offices. We call them “scientific analysts.” Many support leaders in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations, OPNAV; these are called OPNAV CNA Analysts.

What makes scientific analysts unique?

They are subject matter experts, whether in aviation or logistics, China or recruiting.

They regularly attend staff meetings at the Pentagon or other headquarters locations.

They perform quick-turn, ad hoc analyses, often drawing on previous CNA studies.

With their insight into the thinking of Navy and Marine Corps leaders, scientific analysts keep CNA informed about emerging questions. At the same time, they can make sure military leaders are familiar with projects and capabilities at CNA.
