Advanced Technology Assessment
The Advanced Technology Assessment Division evaluates the military utility and efficacy of emerging defense technologies and prototypes. Our analysts support defense innovation to ensure operational effectiveness and lethality and to maintain the technological superiority of US military forces. CNA scientists contribute independent analyses to the testing of new aviation systems and the development of tactics to optimize the effectiveness of existing aircraft. The more than 30 analysts in the Advanced Technology Assessment Division include field representatives deployed to key locations for aviation testing and tactics:
- TOPGUN/Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center
- Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Operational Test Team
- Carrier Strike Group 12 (Air Wing 8 aboard USS Gerald R. Ford)
