Education

As shown in Table 7.2, almost 91 percent of USCG NPS accessions in FY 2000 were regular high school diploma graduates, down from 96 percent in FY 1999. The USCG accepted significantly more GED holders (9 percent) this year. For both the USCG and DoD as a whole, the overall percentage of accessions with high school credentials, either diplomas or GED certificates, was 99 percent, exceeding the comparable civilian group at 79 percent.
