Chapter 5:

Marital Status

Just under half of Selected Reserve members are married (Table 5.11). This proportion is lower than for the comparable civilian population (55 percent), and for enlisted members in the Active Component (50 percent). The proportion of married female Selected Reserve members (35 percent) is much lower than the proportion of married female civilians (53 percent). This difference is in part explained by the younger age of women enlisted members compared to their civilian counterparts.
