Communities across the country have experienced dramatic increases in opioid prescription abuse and heroin overdose deaths over the past several years. Health, justice, social service, and educational institutions have increased their efforts to combat, control, and reduce these problems. This Executive Session will look closely at the cooperative efforts of the justice and public health systems to address these problems, discuss the actions some local police agencies are taking to combat this challenge, and review potential resources agencies and stakeholders can use in addressing this issue.

Featured keynote speakers include Brandon del Pozo, Chief of Police of Burlington, VT Police Department and Mr. Chauncey Parker, Director of the New York/New Jersey HIDTA and Executive Assistant District Attorney, New York District Attorney's Office.
