As the school year begins, CNA Education has released an interactive tool that will change the way students prepare for their future. The new market analysis tool will help Career and Technical Education (CTE) students determine what high-wage, high-demand jobs are available and whether the jobs are relevant to their interests and level of education. If a student is interested in obtaining an associate’s degree, the tool will list occupations such as dental hygienists, web developers, and engineering technicians. Or, if a student is interested in marketing jobs, the tool will list occupations such as market research analysts, public relations and fundraising managers, and sales representatives.
CTE teachers and administrators will also find this tool useful for ensuring their programs are aligned to the job market. For example, CTE coordinators may be interested in creating or modifying an information technology program. The tool will list jobs such as computer network architects, computer network support specialists, database administrators, and information security analysts. The coordinator then may be interested in seeing how their programs can prepare their students for these high-wage, high-demand occupations.
The labor market analysis tool can be found by visiting the CNA Education website at www.cna.org/centers/ipr/education/STEMwire/labor-market-tool.
