<h2 style="text-transform: none; padding-bottom: .5rem;">Future of Public Safety - Redlands, CA</h2>
<p>In 2024, we worked with the Redlands, California, Police Department and its public safety partners to engage in a creative and collaborative long-term planning for the future. In particular, we examined social, technological, economic, environmental, and political (STEEP) factors that may influence the City of Redlands in the future to better identify opportunities to mitigate risks and promote success. This year, the Justice Futures Initiative is further refining this approach by working with additional pilot agencies and identifying opportunities to improve to expand this opportunity to agencies nationwide in a variety of contexts</p>

<p>On September 5, 2024, CNA's Center for Justice Research and Innovation held its second annual virtual symposium to share our research and work supporting the justice field. This half-day event included discussions with leading experts on topics such as emerging technology, public safety member well-being, violence reduction, and critical incident response. Panelists shared information on JRI’s various research and evaluation studies, training and technical assistance, and organizational reform efforts.</p>
