Promoting the Resilience of Military Children through Effective Programs

CNA held a conference on the topic of "Promoting Resilience in Military Children through Effective Programs" in November 2012. The conference raised issues and proposed solutions pertaining to the evaluation of programs for military children. It also provided frameworks for improving programs for military children and the resilience of those who use them.

The planning committee for the conference consisted of CNA staff members as well as leaders from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Tufts University, the George Washington University, the University of Maryland, Military Child Education Coalition, Blue Star Families, Center for a New American Security, Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Specifically, members of the planning committee are Drs. Sarah L. Friedman, Stephen Cozza, Richard Lerner, Anne Ducette, Woodie Kessel, Mary Keller, Meg Harrell, and Valerie Maholmes as well as Ms. Patty Shinseki and Ms. Barbara Thompson.
