U.S. Navy Capstone Strategies and Concepts (1981-1990): Strategy, Policy, Concept, and Vision Documents

This volume describes and analyzes (in slide handout format) the major U.S. Navy capstone documents of the 1980s: Eight successive versions of The Maritime Strategy, including 5 declassified and 3 unclassified documents. Capstone documents are those documents – typically signed by the Chief of Naval Operations – which seek to explain and guide the Navy. This volume complements and supplements U.S. Naval Strategy in the 1980s, published by the Naval War College Press in 2008. It is the eighth volume in the CNA Navy Strategy Series.
