COMMAND AND CONTROL ROLES AND STAFF FUNCTIONS OF MAJOR AMPHIBIOUS FORCE/GROUP COMMANDERS

A general concept of large scale amphibious assault operations is described in this research contribution. The command and control roles of major amphibious commanders and the operational tasks common to all amphibious operations are identified. The report determines the functions of the major staffs and groups them operationally into a set of vital functions which are described in detail.
