Alexandria, Va. — Dr. Ellen B. Mandinach, senior project director at CNA and interim director of Regional Educational Laboratory Appalachia, has been chosen one of 44 Fellows of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). AERA Fellows are chosen in recognition of their exceptional scientific or scholarly contributions to education research or significant contributions to the field through the development of research opportunities and settings.
Mandinach, who joined CNA in 2007, has focused on the impact of educational technology on teaching and learning, and more recently on data-driven decision making.
"It is a great honor to be made a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association," she said. "AERA continues to provide a venue for presenting and disseminating a wide variety of research in the field of education, a valuable service to educators and stakeholders throughout the country."
A panelist on the Institute of Education Sciences Practice Guide for Data-Driven Decision Making, Mandinach is also a member of the technical working group on the U.S. Department of Education national study of data-driven decision making. She received her Ph.D. in educational psychology from Stanford University.
Mandinach is also a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, currently serving as the president of their division of educational psychology.
