Alexandria, Va. — CNA has appointed Constance “Connie” Custer as vice president, Communications and Public Affairs. Reporting to Katherine McGrady, executive vice president and director of Research, Custer will lead CNA in its strategic internal and external communications initiatives.
"Connie's an accomplished and experienced communicator, and we're delighted to have her join the CNA team," said McGrady. "Her expertise in communications in both government and military arenas will be absolutely crucial as we move forward in our defense and domestic work."
Custer has extensive experience in aerospace and defense communications, most recently as vice president, Communications and director, External Communications for Science Applications International Corporation. She also held positions as a manager of Communications at Boeing and as an executive communications coach and consultant. She retired from the U. S. Air Force after serving 20 years, 17 of which were in public affairs.
Custer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a master's degree in management from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri.
