The Center for Naval Analyses is the Department of the Navy's independent think tank. It is a historically significant organization. During World War II, the Center pioneered the field of operations analyses to help the Navy save lives and make more effective use of its scarce resources.
"I am honored to assign Christine the responsibility of leading the Center for Naval Analyses. She has a deep and abiding commitment to our public interest mission, to the pursuit of excellence in public interest research, and excellence in management", said Robert J. Murray, President and CEO of The CNA Corporation.
Ms. Fox has built a 23-year career at the Center for Naval Analyses – beginning as an Analyst in the Operations Evaluation Group (OEG) and most recently as Vice President of OEG leading a team of more than 90 research managers, analysts, and professional staff. The research focus is on support to the operating forces, conducted through a Washington, D.C. based program and a field program with 45 analysts assigned to Navy, Marine Corps and joint commands around the world.
Ms. Fox has both a B.S. in Mathematics and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from George Mason University. In addition to her duties at the Center for Naval Analyses, Ms. Fox serves as a member of the Stafford-Covey Task Group, appointed by NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe to perform an independent assessment of the implementation of the Columbia Space Shuttle Accident Investigation Board's recommendations.
"Christine's splendid leadership abilities, her deep knowledge of naval persons and naval matters will make her a great leader of the Center for Naval Analyses", said Murray.
