Event: Ready Seapower: A History of the U.S. Seventh Fleet – Nov 8

Dr. Edward Marolda, former Senior Historian of the Navy, will discuss principal themes of his new (2012) book Ready Seapower: A History of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, published by NHHC. A PDF copy of Ready Seapower is available online.

The book was drafted with the cooperation of U.S. Seventh Fleet commanders, past and present, and key members of their staffs. One of those commanders – CNA senior fellow VADM John Bird USN (Ret) – will act as the principal discussant at this event. Also acting as a discussant will be NHHC Samuel Eliot Morison Scholarship recipient CDR Thomas Henderschedt, a Mandarin-speaking former Seventh Fleet Deputy ACOS for Intel now studying at JHU/SAIS.
