Navy Secretary Mabus, Energy Deputy Secretary Poneman and other Senior Administration Officials to Participate in White House Forum on Energy Security
WASHINGTON – On July 27, Ray Mabus, Secretary of the Navy, Daniel Poneman, Deputy Secretary of Energy, and other Senior Administration officials will participate in a Clean Energy Forum on Energy Security.
Our nation’s energy challenges are also today’s security challenges. As made clear in the latest Quadrennial Defense Review, climate change and energy are two key issues that will play a significant role in shaping the future security environment. This forum will bring together defense and national security officials, business leaders, academics and other stakeholders for a discussion on the national security imperative of building a clean energy economy.
