CNA's Center for Strategic Studies, the U.S. Naval Institute, and several military history organizations are sponsoring the Third Annual Applied Naval History Symposium, "Riverine Warfare: Back to the Future?"
Panelists, including historians, military analysts, and current and former service members, will discuss the U.S. Navy's role in riverine warfare, riverine craft design, and the historical record on riverine operations of the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marine Corps, the Vietnamese Navy, Colombian Navy, Royal Navy, and Iraqi Navy.
Two riverine craft and their crews—one from the Marines and one from the Naval Special Warfare Command—will be stationed at the Naval Academy’s seawall for the duration of the conference.
