CNA's Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) and the U.S. Naval War College’s Strategic Research Department hosted a conference on Ukraine at CNA on March 11.
Participants in "Ukraine: Perspectives on the Future" included Rear Admiral Michael McDevitt, USN (Ret.), the director of CSS; Dr. Catherine McArdle Kelleher, professor of strategic studies at the Naval War College; Dr. Jonathan Eyal, director of studies at the Royal United Services Institute (UK); Ambassador Steven Pifer, former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine and former deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs; and Dr. Mark Brzezinski, a lawyer and the former director for Russian/Eurasian affairs at the National Security Council.
The workshop focused on the evolution in Ukraine/Russia Relations and the EU aspirations for Ukraine; Ukraine's U.S. interests; and Ukraine's economic prospects, including implications for Black Sea trade.
