    CNA and the U.S. Department of Education's National Institute on Educational Governance, Finance, Policymaking and Management hold joint forum on recent research concerning the impact of technology and telecommunications technologies on schools and extended opportunities for learning. Participants will include representatives from the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Education, other federal officials, experts in the field of education, and CNA Education Center analysts.

    CNA to hosted roundtable on the nation's nursing home enforcement system. Representatives from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Justice to participate, as well as representatives of nursing home providers associations, trade organizations, and advocacy groups for the elderly.

  • CNA hosts second conference on racial profiling

    October 1, 2001

    Participants include police department, police union, and community representatives from four cities that participated in CNA's racial profiling project. Capt. Ron Davis of the Oakland, CA police department to speak about the strengths and weaknesses of data collection and analysis with respect to identifying and measuring racial profiling.

  • CNA hosts first conference on racial profiling

    August 1, 2001

    Participants include police department and police union representatives along with community representatives from the four cities participating in CNA's racial profiling project. Chief Oliver of Richmond, VA will give the keynote address. The conference will address the overall issue of data collection and analysis to investigate the existence and nature of racial profiling, and will offer technical assistance to the participants.

  • CNA analyst Rick Miller Receives Excellence Award for Methodology

    From the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). The ISPOR Award Committee selected the winner based upon publications that have appeared in respected peer-review journals, books, and reports for the preceding 18 months. The award was given for an article Rick Miller and Ted Frech from the University of California at Santa Barbara published on productivity in the pharmaceutical industry.
