An Activity Map is a filtered view of the battlefield in which individual pixels represent gray-scaled approximations of the local activity-level. Currently, this activity level is defined simply by the fraction of sites within a user-defined box (of range R) for which an agent has moved . There are five gray-scales, ranging from black (meaning that no, or very little, motion has taken place) to white (meaning that a large fraction of the possible motion within the box has taken place). Future activity-maps will include views of the agents' patterns of local decision-making (i.e. adaptation), and will act as a first-step towards visualizing emergent patterns in a meta decision-space. |
