CNA Education, in partnership with Education Northwest and WestEd, is exploring how schools of education are taining educators in data literacy for instructional decision making. In February 2011, CNA convened a group of experts including deans of colleges of education, experts in professional development, professional associations, organizations concerned with teacher quality and teacher education, and experts in data use to discuss this topic. This information will serve as a basis for developing recommendations for courses or other actions to improve teacher capacity around data. A white paper with recommendations accompanied by a literature review will be produced based on the discussions.
