The Department of Defense (DoD) is committed to ensuring that all school-age military dependents can access a world-class education. To learn how DoD is meeting this challenge, CNA is conducting a multi-phase review of military dependent children’s educational opportunities and circumstances.
The recently completed Phase I report provided DoD with a profile of the student population; an overview of the academic and socio-emotional needs of military dependent children; a summary of some of the challenges DoD faces in providing high quality services; and suggestions regarding strengths and challenges. The upcoming Phase II will explore the Department of Defense Education Activity’s (DoDEA) response to these challenges in detail.
