Shing Lai (Angie) Cheng has over 5 years of health care research experience focusing on a wide array of healthcare topics including health disparities, chronic diseases and comorbidities among Medicare beneficiaries, health systems planning, healthcare costs, access to care, health information technology, and healthcare quality improvement. She has extensive experience with data analysis, reporting, and presenting research findings to project sponsors and professional audiences.

She is proficient in quantitative analyses using multivariate regression methods including linear, log-linear, logistic regression, survival analysis, and multilevel modeling using STATA and SAS statistical software. She also has training in advanced epidemiologic methods such as study design, causal inference, and analysis of complex longitudinal survey data. She has worked on a number of projects using large healthcare databases such as the Military Health System Data Repository, Veterans Administration Decision Support System, New York State hospital discharge databases, and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Standard Analytical Files.

Cheng received her Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiologic and Biostatistical Methods in Public Health and Clinical Research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University.
