Matthew Prebble is assigned to the CNA Institute for Public Research Air Traffic Management Division, which is responsible for providing technical and analytical support to the Federal Aviation Administration. He is currently supporting systems engineering and analysis efforts for programs under the FAA’s NextGen initiative, which seeks to transform the national air transportation system to meet future demand by moving away from legacy ground-based technologies to more dynamic satellite-based technology.

Prior to joining CNA, Prebble worked for ANSER, Inc. and Kepler Research, Inc. where he provided systems analysis, modeling, and simulation support to various government agencies and organizations including the Air Force Office of Space Plans and Policy, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence - Office of Space Policy, Defense Information Systems Agency, and the Office of Naval Intelligence. He has contributed to numerous studies and reports presented to senior leaders of the Department of Defense and the U.S. Congress including the following: Spacelift Task Force, Space Surveillance Task Force, National Launch Capabilities Study, and Space Protection Policy Review Working Group.

His expertise includes space system modeling and simulation, operations research, linear/nonlinear programming, discrete-event simulation, stochastic modeling, applied statistics, regression analysis, and systems engineering.

Prebble is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has worked as an adjunct faculty member at the George Mason University School of Recreation, Health and Tourism.
