Kyle Kretschman, Ph.D. has worked at CNA since 2011. Prior to CNA, he earned his B.S. in economics from the University of Pittsburgh and his M.S. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin. His dissertation focused on predicting the effects of Congressional campaign finance reform proposals. While in graduate school, he spent one summer interning in the Office of Management and Budget.

Kretschman’s training focused on designing statistical models to answer policy questions. His current research at CNA utilizes these skills in two areas, Navy infrastructure policies and aviation support costs. In the infrastructure area, he has developed a model that ranks potential consolidation projects with multiple criteria and also utilized the Navy databases to identify potential consolidation opportunities. His work with aviation support costs has focused on developing new methods for estimating lifetime support costs of new aviation platforms.
