Kirstin L. Johnson is a homeland security and emergency management specialist with over 6 years of professional experience in government consulting and in the private sector. Her background in business processes planning and development and her more recent experience in government homeland security planning, exercise, and evaluation give her a broad view of planning issues and practices for optimum organizational performance. She has supported federal, state, and local clients by performing capability assessment and modeling research as well as assisting in organizing and evaluating multiple terrorism and natural disaster exercises. Her work has guided the development of various strategic planning documents and initiatives across the U.S. She currently supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Preparedness Assessment Division (NPAD) with analytical support for the National Preparedness Report and other products required by Presidential Policy Directive 8 (PPD-8).
Johnson has a B.S. in Business Administration with a Marketing Specialization from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and has recently completed a M.A. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins in Washington, DC. Her prior work experience includes managing outreach activities for a local office of the American Cancer Society and managing a Customer Relationship Software (CRM) implementation for an insurance brokerage. She is a SalesLogix Certified Database Administrator and has competed Crystal Reports Training.
