Karl Becker

Karl Becker, director of Detention Programs, has over 30 years of experience working with federal, state, and local criminal justice agencies and previously served as Deputy Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections. He has played a leading role in conducting comprehensive assessments of the operation of correctional systems in Puerto Rico, Florida, North Dakota, Illinois, Virginia, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and the District of Columbia. His analyses have identified significant inefficiencies and weaknesses in agency management as well as corrective measures to address these issues. Particular areas of expertise include performance assessment, staffing evaluations, and privatization analyses.
