Work History

  • April 2005 to present: Research Analyst, CNA’s Center for Naval Analyses, Operations Evaluation Group, Naval Operations Support (NOS) Team. As a research analyst on the NOS team, MacLeod works on a wide variety of Marine Corps studies.
  • May 2003 to April 2005: Research Specialist, CNA’s Center for Naval Analyses, Resource Analysis Division, Workforce, Education, and Training Team. As a research specialist on the Workforce, Education, and Training Team, MacLeod worked on Navy and Marine Corps personnel projects as well as long-term studies for offices within the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
  • June 2001 to May 2003: Research Assistant, Congressional Budget Office, National Security Division. MacLeod assisted senior analysts with long- and short-term research projects regarding the U.S. defense budget. He worked on the long term-projection of total defense spending, alternative retirement schemes, the cost of war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the cost of reconstruction and occupation of Iraq. MacLeod also worked extensively with the Future Years Defense Plan (FYDP), Selected Acquisition Reports (SARs), the Personnel Inventory Cost Compensation Model (PICCM), and the Aircraft Inventory Model (TAIM).
