CNA is one of the most rewarding companies to work for. We feel like a family. The atmosphere, my co-workers, and the benefits are all excellent.
Michele Slaughter is well-versed in information technology and, since first entering the field immediately after high school, has applied her skills to the IT demands of a variety of industries including banking, school administration, airlines, and government contracting. She holds an associate’s degree in computer information systems and a bachelor’s degree in computer networking with a minor in business administration.
At CNA Slaughter is responsible for working with CNA employees to solve their technology problems and provides large-scope troubleshooting on corporate infrastructure including desktops, laptops, and servers. She also provides training and documentation support to corporate users and works on other IT projects (such as beta testing for Windows 7 deployment). She joined CNA in 2007 as a help desk professional.
Slaughter is as enthusiastic about her work as she is about her workplace, – “CNA is one of the most rewarding companies to work for. We feel like a family. The atmosphere, my co-workers, and the benefits are all excellent.” – and her patience and unflaggingly positive attitude make her well-suited to her job.
“IT is constantly changing, and it can be difficult to keep up,” says Slaughter. “But CNA does a good job of preparing me so that I can prepare the organization for change. I’m often exposed to new technology before the rest of the company, and I’m given the time to get to know the ins and outs of new software before it’s launched so that I’m prepared to teach others and not just answer complaints.”
“Plus,” says Slaughter, “I’m always up for an adventure, and the challenges at CNA keep me interested and excited.”
