Vice President and Director, Corporate Business Development

Steve Broyhill has served as vice president and director of corporate business development for CNA’s Institute for Public Research (IPR) since 2002. In this position, he builds CNA’s competitive domestic business in five key markets: healthcare, education, domestic safety and security, air traffic management, and organizational and learning effectiveness. With more than 30 years of professional experience, including 22 years in senior management positions, he develops and executes CNA’s win themes and strategies.

Prior to coming to CNA, Broyhill was director of Business Development at Battelle’s Information Systems Engineering and Process Modernization Group. He established Battelle’s General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology and Management, Organizational, and Business Improvement Services (MOBIS) Schedules and built tactical task order business development through these vehicles from $0 to more than $20M annually in three years.

Previous positions, including those at ULTRA Technologies and CALCULON Corporation, included managing staff, providing IT design and implementation support at the enterprise and functional component levels, and management consulting services. He has also served as program manager for newly captured programs.

Broyhill received a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from American University and a bachelor’s in English from the University of Maryland.
